1/15/2020 Update

SHINE Schedule for Second Semester

*Reminder: the new pick-up time for SHINE is 4:15.

SHINE meetings are from 3:15-4:15.

January 22, 2020	New Year’s Goals and ways to promote SHINE in homeroom/decide on group goal to work on for this semester/write notes to kids at Mayfield –they just started a SHINE Club
January 24, 2020 (This is not a meeting date. It is just a reminder.)	Club picture day: Remember to wear your SHINE shirt. If you do not have one, bring a yellow shirt to school to wear.
February 5, 2020	Valentine’s Day Activities: think of ways to give back to and show love to others at school, home, and in the community/Group projects for SHINE
February 19, 2020	Help to create banners for K/1^st grade teachers for Mardi Gras Parade. Since the parade is on Friday, we will see if some SHINE students can help during school hours to clean up after the parade.
March 18, 2020	Make posters for testing/work on group projects for SHINE
May 13, 2020	Dr. Lindsey and Nurse Lauren will speak about their trip/Sundae Party/Recognition of 6^th graders ****Notes will be sent out closer to this date about supplies we will need.

What is the SHINE Club?? It is a club for 3^rd-6^th Graders with the purpose of Serving, Honoring, Inspiring, Nurturing, and Encouraging others. We started meeting last February 2013 at Bonne Ecole.

What will we do? We will be finding ways to serve others at the school and in the community. We will learn how to honor others with our words and actions. We will be finding ways to inspire & nurture younger students. We will also be seeking ways to encourage classmates, faculty and staff at BEE, our families, and community members.
